Another week has come and gone. It was a quiet week for all of us. Especially considering the week we had before. I worked in the morning everyday and tried to get home for the afternoon so Bruce could go out and do what he had to do. Bruce spent the week in the office working and trying to catch up from being away firstly in Australia and then on our road trip. The boy spent a lot of the week chilling out, firstly cause Bruce and I had work to do and secondly it was hot and after work I really didn’t feel like going out anywhere.
Work for me looks like it may be slowing down a little, Ed who I am doing some work with needs an assistant so I will be interviewing next week. It will mean less work for me, but hopefully things with the Angels etc will be taking off I am looking at taking a day off a week. We’ll see how it goes; I’ll keep you all informed.
The weather here is still a hot summer. The weather while we were gone was a little cooler, probably around the same as what we had. Then this week it heated up a little, all the days here are no clouds and in the 90’s, it has by any means been a warm summer, it’s been HOT!!
Our week really nothing happened worth chatting about, the boys’ basketball practices during the week haven’t started yet; we had photos on Saturday morning so the loving at the stadium started.
The boys had a good Friday, Carlos and the kids came over for a meeting with Bruce and the kids all played, this meeting then continued on over to McDonalds for lunch. The kids played at the playground and the big kids sat and kept chatting. We ended up pretty much getting home at the same time around mid afternoon. Friday night we stayed at home and watched movies, I was up early on Saturday morning out to get Jeremy his birthday present. We had photos in the morning. Conner is on the Suns team and Jamieson is on the Lakers. They are both happy with the team and should have good seasons, I hope.
After the photos were finished we headed next door to the pool for Jeremy’s birthday party. It was fun, they all had a good time, we put together a treasure hunt for the kids, which they loved, it probably had something to do with the loot at the end. The party officially ended at 2.00pm but yes, you guessed it we stayed for the rest of the day. The kids played and went on the slide, Jamieson spent pretty much the whole time lining up on the diving board. The others were in and out of all the pools and big slide.
It was 5.00pm when we all walked out of the pool and little redder than when we arrived. But it was a great afternoon and the pool wasn’t too busy which made it a really fun for everyone. The great thing about it there is that there is what looks like too many lifesavers, but on watching them throughout the afternoon, that number is definitely needed and they actually watch what’s gong on and are not afraid to tell people when they are breaking the rules. It was really good; we didn’t have to worry about the kid drowning; that’s for sure. It was nice a relaxing for the adults too.
We got home and all showered and some of us had a nap (Bruce). We had some dinner, then Paula and the boys came over and we walked over to the park to do sparklers, which would have been fun if the lighter Paula bought worked, so the kids played chasey for a little while longer and we walked over to our place and did the sparklers in the back yard. We all were in bed fairly early for a Saturday night but it was very much needed, after a really big day.
We woke up around 8.00 on Sunday morning; Bruce went off to his new Billy Bounce programs and then to do their coach the coaches. He was gone all morning, got back around 2.00pm. The boys and I spent the morning, they watched a movie and I read. Before I knew it was lunchtime and I thought it would be a good time to get up and actually do something for a little bit anyway.
We spend the rest of the afternoon pretty much the same way, Bruce napped and I read and the boys played and watched another movie. We had some dinner and chatted about school the next day. The boys were nervous, but not full of dread, which was good. They both got a haircut, well Jamieson did, and Conner I was only allowed to touch the fringe. They were off to bed around 8.00 and thankfully to sleep not long after that.
Bruce and I were not far behind them, it’s summer, as everyone knows, there’s never anything on over the summer. Even when you have over 100 channels, doesn’t make any difference.
That’s our week that was, not overly exciting by any means, more resting and prepping for the week ahead, back to school and work…..
