From August 27th...& Sept 3rd (double instalment)

The week was like any other, we spend 3 afternoon’s at the pool with Millie and Lexie, which was nice and relaxing. Bruce worked at home, the boys did their chores and some schoolwork & of course I worked as per usual. The weather here is still really really hot, mid to high 30 this week. It would be nice just to see a cloud at the moment, which would be a novelty.

Work for me this week has been assessment & helping Ed’s new assistant, the jury is still out and we’ll see. I helped them put out some presentations to new clients, PMD is plodding along, we had another dose of sickness go through the office again, which (touch wood) I managed to stay away from.

Bruce and I continued our walking in the mornings and I’ve also gotten back into the ab-routine, I have one here that I do for 12 mins, every 2nd day at the moment and then getting into every day probably next week, if I’m motivated. We lost a couple of our fishes this week, and Bruce took the boys out to get some new ones, so we’ll see how long they last. So far, Bruce’s and mine are the only originals left.

The boys and I went over to Lakepoint a couple of afternoons this week and got some time in the sun, which was nice and relaxing. Everything at home is still there to be done when I get back. Bruce is organizing his next lot of trips and also trying to get Angels into some of the bigger chains around the country, so everyone cross your fingers.

The boys and I went off to the library so they could get some new books, we didn’t have a lot of time so off they ran, I was able to spend some time and got some DVD’s to watch.

We had a long weekend, so that means no basketball, we weren’t organized enough to get away, I actually enjoyed being home for a while. The boys holidays as it sounds have been fairly quiet ones, they have their jobs to do, which I leave up on the board in the mornings. Our Friday was a quiet one, Bruce and the boys went on a bike ride to the park to listen to the band (hot summer nights) and shoot some hoops. I had some quiet time, which I also utilized to get some cleaning etc done, but I did get some lounging on the couch done which was nice.

On a not so great note, we got news on Bruce’s dad this week, it’s not great news as we imagined. Everyone is doing as well as expected.

Our Saturday was kind of quiet, we had no basketball, so what to do. The whole day, so what else does Belinda do, clean. It sounds boring when you read it. My nesting is still hanging around, maybe it’s because I’m not home a lot during the week. I decided (once I’d started) to go through the wardrobes; Jamieson is GROWING like a sprout so you can imagine the size of the bag that’s going off to Paula’s for her boys. The boys and I cleaned out their playroom, getting rid of all the usual dollar tree (store) crappy toys and putting everything is containers. The rest of the afternoon was spent at the Lakepoint pool with Millie and Lexie and Bruce had a quiet afternoon.

Paula and the boys turned up for a movie night, we ended heading out for dinner, over to Centre Court, the boys had fun showing Justin and Jeremy around the place. We had a nice dinner and hung out with our friends and made our way home to watch a movie. I’m not sure whether it was a full moon or what was going on, but all the boys were out of control, so of course my boys were in their rooms and Paula took as much as she could then dragged her kids out the door, screaming and whining home to bed.

On Sunday, we got into the car and Bruce took us to a Mall that we hadn’t been to before. We ended up going to the outlet places across the road and looked around. It was a lot of the same places, but the other side of town, so you can imagine there was different stuff, it was a nice day and I got a couple of new things and so did everyone else. Bruce also picked out his birthday present. We were at Home depot and apparently over the Labor day weekend, it’s the time to buy a bbq, so (it was supposed to be a secret, but looking and how heavy they were, Paula and I didn’t have a chance.) The surprise was a bust but he had a HUGE smile on his face. He just has to come back and get it with a truck (UTE) because it’s so HUGE!!! Another GBA moment, that’s one thing we love (and will miss) everything here is SOOO cheap, I hope it makes the trip home, ok. We got home in the afternoon and chilled out.

Labor Day Weekend….

Well, as per usual at home our labor day was a quiet one, Kristie called and invited us over for dinner (bbq), which is apparently what you do on Labor Day. I did some baking etc for dinner and we had a usual afternoon, a little time at the Lakepoint pool again. We came home and were at the Rivera’s not long after. Carlos and the kids were still in Sydney, but Kristie had to come home on her flight. Carlos decided to stay for a few days with the kids.

We had a really nice dinner, our boys hung out with Kristie’s older boys, who had just gotten back from their dad’s. Bruce bbq’d and the girls chatted, it was a nice relaxing evening to finish off the weekend. Bruce also found a new avenue for the angels in Kristie’s mum, Caroline, switched on and looking for something to do. She also has some contacts in the religious sector, so that looks like a good thing for us.

Our week kind of started on Tuesday this week, well for me anyway. I was off to work and the boys were at home, the poor kids, it hasn’t been the most exciting of holidays but we can’t go away all the time. Work for me this week was eventful, I finished off the details about Saturday night’s office bbq, and we had to let Ed’s new assistant go on Wednesday. It for the best it just means we have to start from scratch and start looking again. We spent a couple of afternoons at the pool with Millie and Lexie, they are excited Scott coming home for the weekend. Bruce found out that he was going to San Antonio on SUnday night for a Monday meeting so started prepping for that. The boys spent the week doing the usual, some schoolwork, some house jobs and just chilling out around the house. Bruce went out and picked up his birthday present and bought it back home.

Kristie called in on Thursday night for a catch up, she doesn’t have all the kids so she had the opportunity to come over and we sit and chatted which was fantastic, usually its; us talking and kids everywhere. It was nice to have a quiet chat; we also started trying to figure out a way for us to see the AFL Grand Final. Turns out there are parties all over the country but it’s also on one of the cable networks channels (not ours of course). So we’ve taken a step forward. Then on the weekend I found out that Andrea and Robert have the channel that we need and said we could come over to their place, so we have a location (and they have been warned about the yelling & cheering, I think they are looking forward to that bit) now all we need is for the Cats to do their thing and get there?

Our weekend was a busy one, our Friday night was a quiet one, baking and cooking for the bbq on Saturday night. Saturday we were back to basketball and the usual house stuff in between. Then off (late) to Ed’s place for our office bbq. We had a really good time. We met Tom’s wife, who is just fabulous, she had us all laughing all night. The boys played with Ed’s grandkids in the backyard in the pool and spa and had a ball, while the adults spent the evening talking and generally having a good time. We got home at around 10.30, which wasn't too bad, the boys went off to bed and Bruce and I were not long behind, another busy week, which means TIRED!!!!

We rounded out the week by heading out in the morning to a place called Some Place Fun for Brayden’s birthday party. ( A boy that was in Jamieson’s basketball team last year, we still catch up with him and his mum every now and then.) We got there at around 10.30 and stayed for a play and lunch, we had to leave around 12.00, Bruce had to get home and pack and organize for his trip to Texas. We dropped him off at the airport at around 2.30 and then back to Paula’s for the kids to swim and dinner etc. We got home around 7.30 and Bruce called later to say he made it safely. As per usual, Bruce is away so I didn’t get to sleep until late, (I suppose I should get used to that, as the traveling is about to start up again.)

That was our week. Which means I am finally up to date….YEAY!!!!

The great thing this week is the CATS won and Andrea tivo’d the second half for us (when they got home from the bbq) so it’s there waiting for us to come over and see.

That’s something to look forward to this week; I just have to organize it.

I hope everyone is well, and taking care of each other. Have a great week!!!

From August 20th....

Yet another week has gone and gone. Our week yet again was as per usual. Bruce has been a stay at home dad (for older kids). I’ve been off to work, the good thing is that they’ve been sleeping in a bit, so I’ve been able to get out of the house and to work by 8.00am.

I am in the process of training Ed’s new assistant, she is going to be ok, sadly not great but what do you expect from a temp agency. She works slower than we are used to. She’s coming along, only time will tell. We work at a pretty fast pace here, I’m not sure whether she’ll be able to keep up, Ed’s not going to settle for that if things stay the same.

The boys and I have been going over to Lakepoint to meet Millie and Lexie and the pool for a couple of hours. Her husband is working out of state in Arizona at the moment and she has no car so we’ve been spending time together, which is great and good for them, they are obviously lonely. So as you can imagine Jamieson is brown as a little berry again and I’m not too bad I finally have some nice color.

We are going through a really HOT patch at the moment; it’s been in the 100’s for god knows how long now. I haven’t really noticed it too much considering office is in the air conditioning, by the time you finish and you walk out into the blithering HEAT, there has to be a pool to sit next too or it’s just not going to happen. Bruce and I have been walking in the morning’s, which is nice, it’s still cool at that time of the morning so it’s really nice to get out before the heat starts.

Our weekend was full again, Friday night I just wanted to take a breath and spend some time at home. Bruce on the other hand is stuck at the house all day and I’m sure is going through the opposite thing. I’m also for some reason, nesting at the moment, which is how I spent most of the weekend. Friday night I did the usual tidy up, dinner and went out shopping for a couple of things, birthday present for Dylan for Sunday while the boys were chilling out.

I was up and walked as usual and then came home and started baking and cleaning. Bruce and the boys were up a little later and chilled out over breakfast. I took the opportunity to organize the boys room while they were out of them. We were out of the house for Jamieson’s game. They won again, although they were flat, all the kids are back at school so I think they are going through that first week of school tiredness. They won but it wasn’t pretty AT ALL!!! Christian, Conner’s friend (basketball) was dropped off and he came home with us. We got home and the boys and I went over to Lakepoint to swim, there weren’t a lot of people down there, which is always a bonus.

They played ok, they won but they won BIG UGLY!!!! Conner is playing really well and I think Bruce is enjoyed the fact that he can actually teach him stuff properly and he understands it. We got home and I finished off the dinner etc, Paul (Christian’s dad, Bruce co- coach) and Riley his son were coming over for dinner. I did some lasagna, potatoes and bread and thank goodness it was enough. Feeding eight boys is always a lottery depending on how hungry they are. They then watched a boy movie on the big screen so I went down to the bedroom to watch something not so testoterony!! They left around 11.00 and the boys went off to bed, not to be getting to sleep until (my guess) 1.00am.

We woke up on Sunday morning and went for a walk, then did breakfast for the boys and we all got ready to go over to the Charles’ for Dylan’s birthday. We dropped Christian off on the way and then headed off up the hill. We arrived and the boys jumped into the pool and we all sat down by the pool with Kristin’s sister and chatted for a while, had some lunch caught up with some other friends, we had met 4th July last year. It was a hot but fun afternoon, Paula and the boys arrived around 2pm and then off they all went, 6 boys running around (for now) Cooper is not far behind. He’s so big and running around and starting to talk, he’s just gorgeous.

We stayed till around 4.00, then much to the disappointment of my children we left and dropped into the Mall to exchange one of Bruce’s birthday gifts, that’s the bugger, he has to try things on, but he loves it and that’s all that matters.

We got home had some dinner; showers etc and the boys went off to bed. I was settling in to watch the Army Wives final when Paula rung inconsolable, so I put my shoes on and off I went to the house. Let’s just say her family don’t really act like her family, and this time it’s about her dad (died last year), I got home around midnight and the house was asleep.

So, that was another exciting, not so exciting week in Elk Grove. I suppose it depends on how you look at it.
